How can you protect a hoist outside?

Hoists used and stored outdoors face a range of difficulties from exposure to the elements.  Ice, snow, rain and condensation can cause electrical components to short-circuit as well as motors, limit switches, pendants and control enclosures to fill with water and corrode.

To ensure the operation and protect of your outdoor hoisting equipment, a Hoist Shelter provides necessary protection from precipitation and sunlight.

Model: HS3030 Hoist Shelter

Shupper-Brickle equipment custom builds hoist shelters to provide protection to outside hoists, sheltering it from the elements, reducing downtime and extending the life of your equipment. HS3030 is one of our standard hoist shelter sizes and it is fabricated with the following specs and features:

  • Size: 2.5 feet long x 2.5 feet wide
  • Materials: Galvanized sheet metal roof and frame, UV-resistant PVC weather stripping sides.
  • Installation: By purchaser, instructions provided
  • PDF Drawing Download

How do you determine what size Hoist Shelter you need?

As a rule for sizing, a Hoist Shelter should cover one to two feet in each direction around the hoist to allow for weather protection as well as adequate air circulation.

A model #HS3030 Hoist Shelter is suited to cover and protect an electric chain hoist, such as an R&M electric chain hoist or a Budgit electric chain hoist.

Why use a Hoist Shelter?

Our outdoor hoist shelters provide an economical and effective form of protection for hoists kept outside from the negative effects of the weather. Benefits of using one of our hoist shelters to protect your outdoor hoisting equipment include:

  • Protection from precipitation and sunlight that leads to condensation inside the hoist
  • Galvanized steel roof and UV-resistant PVC siding provide a durable, lasting cover
  • Cost savings on replacement and maintenance services for the hoist’s lifetime
  • Use in addition to weather-proof coating on the hoist for especially corrosive environments
  • Add years of life to an outdoor hoist

How are Hoist Shelters shipped?

Our hoist shelters are palletized for shipment and available FOB Clarksburg, NJ 08510, either with prepaid and added freight charges or freight collect with a provided LTL account. Direct pick up is also available at our New Jersey hoist workshop.

How are Hoist Shelters installed?

The Hoist Shelter installs by clamping on to your existing monorail, bridge beam or jib crane beam and instructions for installation are provided. Professional installation services are also available to customers within our service area in the Mid-Atlantic region.
