Electrolift Worm Gear Powered Wire Rope Hoists
Raising the standard since 1932, Electrolift is the oldest manufacturer of worm drive wire rope hoists. Electrolift hoists are designed and built to withstand extreme conditions and frequent use. Their electric wire rope hoists are custom engineered and manufactured to your specific environment or restrictions.
Key Advantages of Non-Load Brake Hoists with a Worm Drive Gear Reducer
Most industrial hoists on the market offer either load braking or regenerative braking, however, Electrolift offers a better option by using a worm drive. Worm drives are inherently safer than other gear sets, since while the worm can easily turn the gear, the gear cannot turn the worm. In lifting applications, this feature acts as a secondary brake, due to limited backward mobility.
Advantages of the Worm Gear Design Include:
-
· Longer Lifts– While long lifts cause load brakes to overheat and prematurely fail, they’re no problem for worm drive hoists by Electrolift.
-
· Faster Lifting Speeds- Load brakes accumulate excessive heat as lifting speeds increase, but worm drive hoists do not.
- · Low Maintenance – Electrolift hoists have fewer moving parts than other hoists with gearboxes that require complex load brake mechanisms.
